
ECTS - EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM
The ECTS, The European Credit Transfer System, was conceived in the EU to facilitate the co-operation between European universities.
ECTS scoring enables measurement and comparison of the results achieved by the student as well as transferring these results between universities. It allows for clear and transparent definition of the rules for international studies, their full recognition and credit requirements.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Zawodowa w Gorzowie Wlkp. (PWSZ) was established based on a decision of Ministry of Education on the 21.08.1998. PWSZ offers professionals studies in ten departments within three institutes. The institutes are managed by their directors and v-ce directors. There are ten departments in the frame of three Institutes. Studies at PWSZ last six or seven semesters depending on a major and curriculum.

Changes in the structure or management of PWSZ are made by the Senate after the approval of the Senate Commission for the Organization and Development of PWSZ.
Studies last six or seven semesters depending on curriculum. Undergraduate students obtain a Licentiate Degree. Students may study full- time or part- time.
PWSZ students have an option to continue their studies and obtain MA Degree of University of Szczecin that cooperates with PWSZ (MA in Management, Administration and Education).

Studies Regulations are acccessible at Student Affairs Offices of all specializations as well as at Student Government Office at Chopina 52 Street, Hall 7.

2.General student information
Official procedures required upon arrival and stay in a country of partner educational institution
Student must legalize his/her stay in another country as soon as he/she arrives to a partnership educational institution. In order to obtain legal stay application is to be submitted at the nearest Province (Voivodeship) Office at Jagiellończyka 8 Street. Permission of legal stay for students is given for one year period and extended for following years of study (until graduation). Documents proving student status are required (certification of educational institution) as well as health insurance and sufficient financial means. Permission for legal stay also gives the right to work. Permission for legal stay and work is also valid for closest family- spouse and children.
First steps upon arrival
Student should decide on the exact date and time of his/her arrival and inform partner educational institution coordinator by mail: koordynator@pwsz.pl, by fax 0048/95/7216041 or by phone 0048/95/7216070. Student should report in person coordinator of international affairs upon arrival in Gorzów Wlkp. at International Office Department at Teatralna 25 Street, room nr 111 (first floor).
Accommodation
Student Dormitory PWSZ in Gorzów Wlkp. is located at Piłsudskiego 9 Street, phone/fax number 0048/95/7216095. In order to reserve a place in a Dormitory student must submit an application until 15th of September for a following academic year. Disabled student may stay at a Dormitory as well. However, unfortunately there aren't any facilities for disabled persons. There is a cafeteria at Student Dormitory serving dinner as well as internet café, shop and copy room. There is a grocery store "Netto" next to a Dormitory and a large park right outside perfect for leisure activities. Students may stay physically active by using modern sports facilities at PWSZ ( inside, outside gym, weights room etc.)
Facilities for disabled students
Administration building at Teatralna 25 Street, building nr 7 at Chopina Street and Library at Chopina Street are adapted for disabled students.
Financial aid and scholarships
PWSZ offers financial aid scholarships in the following areas: social needs, food scholarship, accommodation, for disabled persons, sports, academic, for great sports achievements. Libraries
Main Library of PWSZ is located in a building nr 9 at Chopina 52. Foreign languages library is located at Institute of Humanities at Teatralna 25 Street along with Goethe Institute. Main library consists of 50 thousand of scientific books and over 50 professional magazines. There are also two reading areas and 90 modern computer access stands for the students in the library. Main Library is open Monday- Friday (9:00-17:00) and on Saturday (9:00-17:00). Foreign languages library remains open Monday- Thursday (8:00-15:00) and on Fridays, 8:00-17:00.
Campus community
Student activities and leisure time. A great part of their time students spend outside of the classroom. PWSZ students are encouraged to take an active part in all aspects of college life, by offering programs, services and resources to make their tenure at PWSZ as exciting and successful as possible. PWSZ in Gorzów Wlkp. tries to create an appropriate environment for students to develop their scientific, cultural, sport, political and social activities. Student's Council at PWSZ is an official Representative whose main task is to represent students' interest. There is Student Government at PWSZ as well many scientific and student organizations (full list in a student guide). There is also Academic Sports Organization and students chorus. All information about cultural program and ways of spending leisure time is available at Gorzów Wlkp. website www.gorzow.pl. Thanks to support of their teachers students have established several scientific circles. Students take part in regular meetings, camps, seminars and conferences where they have opportunities to widen their knowledge and present the results of their research.
There are several facilities available for students including library, conference rooms as well as the sports complex and more.
Useful information
There many banks and ATM machines in Gorzów Wlkp. One of the banks with English speaking employees is "Reiffeisenbank Polska" at Pionierów 3-5 Street.
